(1936- 2003)

واحد من بين ابرز رسامي الكاريكاتير العرب.

عمل في البداية مخرجا ومصمما للإعلان ثم انتقل للعمل كرسام كاريكاتير في الصحافة اللبنانية حيث عمل في العديد من الصحف بينها (الحسناء) و(الأسبوع العربي) وعلى إثر الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية اضطر الفنان للانتقال إلى إنكلترا حيث عمل في صحف (عرب نيوز) و(المجلة) و(جريدة الشرق الأوسط) التي شكلت المرحلة الأبرز في إبداعه.

وقد بقي الفنان في لندن حتى تاريخ وفاته في 11-2- 2003) على إثر عملية جراحية في القلب.

 He was an Editorial Cartoonist Asharq Al-Awsat, Arab News, Al-Majalla 

 It was said about him :  silence is  the most prominent  feature of Mahmoud Kahil . 

His silent cartoons  excited the reader and stimulated his imagination and draws a bitter smile on his face.
He was an artist who relied on the visuals more than words and this was what has been made his art a special language has been published in Arab and International newspapers.

Born in Tripoli, Lebanon , Kahil’s  first job was as Graphic Designer for an advertising agency. He then worked for the weekly magazine 'Usbu Al-Arabi' as a Layout Designer, and it was there that his first cartoons were published.

He came to London in 1979 to work for 'Saudi Research and Marketing' and he worked in this company as an Editorial Cartoonist for 'Asharq Al-Awsat' and 'Arab News' daily newspapers as well as the 'Al-Majalla' weekly magazine

Not only a cartoonist he was also a journalist who did not use words when talking about his art during the very few interviews he has been carried out during his career.
